Dog Boarding
1. Boarding fees are charged to include the day of arrival and departure. 'Daily Rate' is understood as the amount payable per day or any part thereof. Boarding fees are payable on arrival or collection by cash or bank transfer. All days booked, or additional days are charged for. No dogs will be released until full and final payment has been received. Long term boarding of 4 weeks or more must be paid for one month in advance. Dukes Barn Farm Boarding Kennels & Cattery reserve the right to retain any dog, charging for the extended stay until such time, the outstanding account is settled or to remove that dog to the care of a suitable rescue centre if any account becomes overdue or the dog is not collected within 7 days of the due payment and/or collection date. Any costs involved will be the responsibility of the owner. In the event of any delay in collection, notification must be given at the earliest opportunity and Dukes Barn Farm Boarding Kennels & Cattery reserve the right to refuse the extension.
2. All dogs being boarded are required to have current vaccinations with the certificates beings produced on arrival. Dogs are to be vaccinated against Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Infectious Canine Hepatitis (Adenovirus) and Leptospirosis. The vaccination against Kennel Cough (Bordetella Bronchiseptica or Canine Parainfluenza Virus) is optional, but if given must be 3-4 weeks prior to arrival.
3.Should a veterinarian need to be contacted at our discretion relating to any illness, injury or for any preventative treatment, the owner consents to this and to any administration of prescribed medication. All applicable fees incurred are the owners responsibility. In such an event all dogs will be taken to Barn Lodge Veterinary Hospital unless the owner specifies otherwise or an appointment cannot be obtained at their chosen practice within a reasonable time. The owner consents to Dukes Barn Farm Boarding Kennels & Cattery obtaining any clinical history of their pet should it be required.
4. During their stay, should your dog benefit from routine grooming and other health regime identified by any staff member, the owner consents to these procedures using animal safe products.
5. Dukes Barn Farm Boarding Kennels & Cattery provide all dogs boarding with us, a programme of enrichment in line with details provided by the owner which will include basic grooming, socialisation and play unless advice from a veterinarian suggests otherwise. These animals will be offered an alternative form of enrichment.
6. All dog boarders will be removed from their kennel area at least four times per day for toileting purposes. No dogs will be boarded with another unless from the same home and by consent of the owner. Dukes Barn Farm Boarding Kennels & Cattery reserve the right to separate any animal to prevent injuries or intimidation. Exercise will be provided for our dog boarders in our secure paddock as per DEFRA guidelines. All dogs will be exercised individually unless from the same home and by consent of the owner. No dogs will be exercised off the premises.
7. Any bedding or toys supplied by the owner that are damaged/destroyed by the dog are left at the owners risk. Any veterinary treatment required following such an event will be at the owners expense. Dukes Barn Farm Boarding Kennels & Cattery reserve the right to remove any such products as a preventative measure.
8. Transportation to a veterinary hospital will be via a secure vehicle. All dogs will be crated to minimise risk. All dogs leaving the premises will be wearing Dukes Barn Farm Boarding Kennels and Cattery identity tag/collar/lead. Where appropriate, all dogs will be offered food/water and a chance to relieve themselves.
9. All dogs will be fed their usual diet twice daily. Any special dietary arrangements requested or supplied by the owner will be followed.
10. All reasonable efforts will be made to administer any medication or treatment provided by a veterinarian and given as directed. There is no extra charge to the owner. However, if veterinary assistance is required, the owner consents and is liable for all costs without prior consultation.
11. Should an exempt dog be accepted for boarding, Dukes Barn Farm Boarding Kennels and Cattery will require a copy of your dogs certificate of exemption, a copy of your public liability insurance and muzzle during their stay. Exempt dogs are not allowed to board for longer than 30 days.

To ensure all our boarders are happy and healthy, we tailor our exercise and enrichment programme to suit each and every pet's needs.
